The picture tour of Berlin starts off with the infamous Hotel Adlon where Michael Jackson dangled his baby from a balcony.

A little more on the historical side, the Brandenberg Gate.

Statue of Victory over Parisplatz (get it? Victory over Paris? Those Germans and their word play)

Inside the Jewish Holocaust Memorial. Very quiet and isolating.

From the outside.

A cool juxtaposition between what the Communists painted the fabulous life of the East to be and the reality of how bad it actually was.

Berlin Bear! I wanted to steal one from the streets but I didn't think it would fit in my bag, so I refrained.

Some of the final remnants of the Berlin Wall. Mostly picked to pieces.

Hard to see because of the glare, but a memorial to the Nazi book burning. Under the square where the books were burned are enough shelves to fit all the destroyed materials.

Little German crosswalk man.

Pretty princess with a bow in her hair (from the box of chocolates we bought) trying to figure out where we are.

Ahhh more bears! My fave.

Checkpoint Charlie recreation.

Best gross-sounding food: the currywurst.

Mmmm delish.

What a good name for a little park.

Fierce statue outside the Egyptian museum.

Which is the bear and which is Ellen? I just can't tell!

Yes, more Brandenburg gate. But this time at sunset, very different.

Off to the Reichstag.

Giant glass dome on top that you can climb (and we did) to get some views of wonderful Berlin.

Government for the German people.
